Who I Am
I’m J. N. Cross, the founder and strategic architect behind The Selective Mind (Selective Mind)—a philosophical and cognitive security framework for reclaiming mental autonomy in an age of manipulation. The initials are intentional. I care more about the clarity of the message than the labels people place on the messenger. With a background in cybersecurity operations, intelligence analysis and research, and systems thinking, I study how information, technology, and psychology shape perception and decision-making.

Why I Created The Selective Mind
I have always been an observer—analyzing the world, questioning narratives, and seeking depth over distraction. In a society that often rewards conformity and surface-level engagement, I realized the necessity of a structured framework for independent thinking and intentional decision-making.
I created Selective Mind because I saw how easily people’s thoughts, emotions, and decisions are shaped by external forces—social media, mass media, corporate agendas, and digital algorithms. Rather than letting others dictate reality, I wanted to empower individuals to take ownership of their minds—to filter what enters, critically analyze what is presented, and navigate the world with clarity, confidence, and sovereignty.
